Good Weekend

I know what you’re thinking, and the answer is NO…this blog is not about everybody’s favorite band Art Brut. Now that we have that out of the way, this weekend has been a blast for the good guys in the GLJs.

Thursday night we played a great indoor show at the Union Terrace in Madison, WI. Great crowd and great opening slot for the Young Dubliners. Friday was another great day as we found some insane deals at Urban Outfitters in Madison and made our way down to Lake Geneva, WI for our buddy Brandon James Famularo’s wedding to the lovely Chelsea Famularo.

The ceremony was classic, and the reception at the Riviera on the lake was everything a wedding reception should be including a performance by Brandon’s sister and father, an acordian, the chicken dance, and whistful live rendition of that old classic, Free Bird, performed by the Brandon James Band.

It was great having Kevin Arndt join us on stage to help us plow through The Sun Explodes to a ready-to-celebrate crowd, but the hilight of the night for us was when Brandon took the stage with us to perform the title track from his new album, Labor of Love.

What a great night to wrap things up for the Joes this weekend. Thank you to every one that made it so great.
