Indy rockSo yesterday was the big day at the Midwest Music Summit ‘06… First off, we checked out a panel that featured 3 of our friends/colleauges (Dave Silbaugh, Brandon Day, and Matt Mentele) talking about artist development. There were some good ideas tossed out, but the highlight of the session was Brandon Day using us, The Good Luck Joes, as an example for how you have to rock at every show because you just never know who might be in the audience (referencing our sparsely attended St Paul show which led to a glowing review on HowWasTheShow.com). After that, we joined the Machine Records crowd for the Machine party at The Alley Cat. We got to see a little bit of On A Sun’s set — some friends of ours from Milwaukee who have really taken things to a new level — and also a bit of Martha Berner’s set before we went on. It was a small stage for the indoor acts, but we made the most of it. After our show, we got to check out The Apparitions on the outdoor stage — amazing, as usual. If you ever get a chance to go see them, do it! You won’t regret it! Our second show of the day came after midnight at The Stone Mug. Another Machine act, Sundayrunners, played before us and rocked (Randy rocking out while standing on the house kick drum — bold and daring!) We did a 9 song set and called it a night after a long day. We want to thank everyone at the MMS for putting on an awesome event, the Machine Records folks, all the Machine acts that we’re so glad to be associated with, and of course, everyone who came out to see/support us. Come see us in Madison at The Union Terrace on Thursday with The Young Dubliners! -A. Krei One Response to “Indy rock”Leave a Reply |
